The Fairmount Hotel Rooftop Bar.

Derek Moore, Fairmount Rooftop Oyster Bar

Not only do you get to enjoy a Brandy Alexander in one of San Antonio’s most historic buildings, but you get to enjoy it with one of the best views in the city. Even if oysters aren’t your thing, there are plenty of reasons to visit The Fairmount Rooftop Oyster Bar.

One of those reasons is Derek Moore, another Georgia native participating in this year’s Brandy Alexander Tour. Fun fact, Derek was the winner of the 2020 Maxim Magazine Best Cocktail in America competition. His take on the whiskey sour, which he dedicated to his two-day-old nephew (how sweet is that?), stole the show.

Derek’s only been in San Antonio for about a month, and already loving the city.

For the Tour stop, he’s channeling his inner “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it,” opting for a more traditional Brandy Alexander with a couple dashes of Aztec chocolate bitters to add a more intense chocolate flavor. He also throws in two ounces of Kinsman Rakia, which as we all know, is never a bad thing. The result? 100% deliciousness.

Visit Derek at The Fairmount Rooftop Oyster Bar and find out for yourself why the traditional Brand Alexander is called an indulgent classic. But don’t wait too long. Derek is a self-described rolling stone, so pay him a visit before he rolls on outta here.
