Down on Grayson.
Down on Grayson, the well-known, casual eatery located near the Historic Pearl, is a newcomer to the Tour this year. And you’d be hard pressed to find a better atmosphere to sip on a Brandy Alexander than the restaurant’s sprawling, tree-covered patio.
Though…you could be sipping this cocktail in some sad ass dive-bar, and it wouldn’t matter because the Brandy Alexander the Down on Grayson team came up with is that tasty! And it should be mentioned that it was a team effort. Brandon Linthicum is the poor guy who was voluntold to show up and make the cocktail, look pretty and answer our hard hitting questions like: Do you have any pets? What’s your favorite book?
He does have a dog by the way. Roxy, a pit bull mix, is his foster dog. That’s one of the things Brandon likes to do in his free time is foster and shelter dogs. What a guy! His favorite book is All the Pretty Horses, and another way Brandon likes to spend his free time is joining his co-workers on a morning run along the river.
But enough about Brandon. Let’s get back to that Brandy Alexander. The team sidesteps the classic crème de cacao and opts for equal parts Mozart White Chocolate liqueur and Frangelico, a combination that delivers notes of vanilla, hazelnut, cocoa and coffee.
The result is a rich and creamy sipper that ought to be enjoyed with friends on one of the best patios in town. Visit Down on Grayson this holiday season and enjoy their take on the classic dessert cocktail.
